      Anna Maria Bruzzese, Stage Director/Choreographer

 

Graduated at the Accademia Regionale di danza and former dancer in Teatro
Nuovo Torino Dance Company until 1998, she danced for the seasons of Teatro
Regio Torino, Venezia La Fenice, Parma Teatro Regio and for many important
international festivals.


Ms. Bruzzese began her career in 2004 as a choreographer, assistant and opera

director, reviving shows for important Theaters as Torino Teatro Regio, Palermo

Teatro Massimo, Firenze Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Parma Teatro Regio, Aix en
Provence Festival, Wiesbaden Festival, Warsaw Opera Narodowa, working with
many important directors as Laurent Pelly, William Friedkin, Christopher Alden,
Lorenzo Mariani, Gabriele Lavia, and Alessandro Talevi.


Ms. Bruzzese is a choreographer for William Friedkin’s Aida in Teatro Regio

2015-2016 opening season and in Muscat Royal Opera House.  Last year she created new choreographies for Christopher Alden’s staging of Il Turco in Italia 

and Alessandro Talevi’s staging of Albert Herring and Histoire du Soldat.
 

Beyond revivals of La Traviata, Carmen, Rigoletto and Elisir d’amore, Pechêurs des
Perles
, she works on some new shows dedicated to young people: Children’s Crusade
by Benjamin Britten, Le nozze di Figaro for students , Riccioli di Barbiere from
Barbiere di Siviglia and Dolceamaro e la pozione magica from L’elisir d’amore.


Since 2013 she follows the project Sipari Sociali, a course for young students to
approach theater, opera and dance, where she works on shows such as
Aiutiamo Sam, L’elisir del teatro, Il flauto magico and La scarpetta perduta from
Rossini’s Cenerentola.


Since 2018 she works with Daniele Cipriani Entertainment as ballet master and
stage manager for Gala Les Etoiles, a ballet gala showing the best ballet dancers
from all over the world.
