       Peter McClintock, Acting Coach/Director

 

A Staff Stage Director with the Metropolitan Opera for over twenty-six years, Peter McClintock has participated in over fifty-five opera productions during his tenure there. During the 2013-2014 Season, he directed Andrea Chenier. In recent seasons, he has also directed Khovanshchina, Ernani, Simon Boccanegra, Queen of Spades La Gioconda, La Clemenza di Tito, I Vespri Siciliani, Die Walküre, Götterdämmerung, Moses und Aron, Il Trovatore, Faust, Eugene Onegin, Carmen, Samson et Dalila, Manon, and Die Meistersinger.

 

He received his B.A. in Theater Arts from the University of California at Los Angeles, and began his opera career at the San Francisco Opera, where he worked his way up from Assistant Stage Manager to Staff Director. For San Francisco, he directed Die Walküre, Siegfried, Don Carlo, Turandot, Mefistofele, and Guillaume Tell. He has also worked at the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing, La Scala, Staatsoper Berlin, Theater an der Wien, Aix-en-Provence Festival, Kirov Opera, Washington National Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Houston Grand Opera, San Francisco Symphony, Vancouver Opera, Opera Theater of Saint Louis, Portland Opera, San Diego Opera, and Long Beach Opera.
